Eliza thompson house savannah review8/18/2023 ![]() ![]() Even traveling alone I felt very safe walking to and from even after dark. As others have mentioned.location could not have been better. I would stay again, but not during a holiday weekend in hopes for a lower price and a room with a window, as the rest of the rooms except mine seemed to have. Only improvement I could see on food would be if they offered a variety of salad with the wine in the evenings instead of the exact same pasta salad each night. Breakfast was more than you'd expect with a variety of hot and cold foods. I spent much time in the patio, and was well attended to at all times. That being said, the Guest House is beautiful and Kevin the bellhop, and Nell at the desk made me feel like family. 4.5 Excellent 2,510 reviews 4 of 129 hotels in Savannah Location Cleanliness Service Value Travellers' Choice The Eliza Thompson House is an exquisite 1847 bed and breakfast inn located on beautiful Jones Street. It seemed more to be a convenience for the staff, not for me, the guest, which was completely disappointing, especially with it being so over priced. was completely open with people driving on it. After staying there, and paying for a 3rd night I didn't need, I did not see the reason for that at all. Given it being St Patrick's Day weekend I was also told I was required to stay a third night, as they won't let anyone check in or out the day of the festivities. If it weren't for the fact that the price of this Guest House was extremely over priced for my little room with no window, at well over $250 a night, I would rate it 5 star. We hope to see you again in the future. If it weren't for the fact that the price of this Guest House was extremely over priced for my little room with no window, at well over $250 a night, I would rate it 5 star. I sincerely hope that you saw my response to your other review and would greatly appreciate the opportunity to speak with you further. We do not surprise our valued guests by added on fees and would never do so. The only thing that is not added on to your total cost is the city mandated $15 parking pass as not every guest will be having a vehicle. The total cost of your room, which is broken down in detail before you complete the booking process, includes the cost of the room, the $25 amenity fee, the $5 transportation fee, and the 13% sales tax. I would also like to mention that we have absolutely no control over sales taxes nor the Georgia government mandated transportation fee of $5, nor the City of Savannah daily parking pass fee of $15. We hope that this work will lead to high guest satisfaction and a better experience for all future guests. We will be sure to address the concerns that you mentioned in this review when we approach the work for the room you stayed in. Work has started already in a few rooms and we hope to have all bathrooms newly renovated and completed by the end of 2023. Please know that we are working very hard with our corporate office, design team, and contractor team to upgrade all of our bathrooms in the near future. While we are so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us, we do sincerely apologize for the issues that you had during your stay.
